MISSION STATEMENT
The Wabasha Area Food Share has a mission to provide nutritious food to our neighbors in need. Although the Food Share primarily provides food assistance for residents of the Wabasha/Kellogg area, all residents of Minnesota are welcome to visit. The Food Share may be used on a one-time basis, a regular weekly or monthly basis or as needed throughout the year. We believe in the importance of protecting privacy and dignity, and in serving with respect and integrity.
Our shelves and coolers/freezers are stocked with a wide variety of items such as non-perishable foods, frozen meats and vegetables, eggs, dairy products, bread, cooking ingredients, and personal care items. Fresh produce is always available as well.
A team of trained volunteers is responsible for the routine operations and a board of directors, comprised of community and church representatives, provides leadership and oversight. Our Manager Martha Black is the one paid part-time staff member. Contact her directly at 715-448-0496 with any questions or concerns.
FUNDING SOURCES
The pantry is supported by individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations in the form of cash donations, food, and/or volunteering.
OUR IMPACT
In 2023, the Wabasha Area Food Share provided over 245,000 pounds of food and household items to 1,509 individuals in 526 households in the community.
Almost a 60% increase from 2022!
OUR HISTORY
The Wabasha Area Food Share is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization formed in 1985 by area churches to respond to residents experiencing financial hardships.
